He clearly does not know much about history, especially the history of broadcasting; or business, including the business of broadcasting.
Radio used to have a fairness doctrine, a limit on station ownership (7 AM and 7 FM) and was mostly local. Radio largely avoided controversy but when it did take sides, it was almost always on Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8697187.post-77464002094829886042007-04-27T09:27:00.001-05:002007-04-27T09:27:00.001-05:00Great piece, ltr. He proposes that radio broadcasters be required to air a certain amount of original, local or diverse content in each market on new stations they acquire. This would likely prod them to sell-off some stations to mom and pop ownersMissy Zimmermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03669592991418774996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8697187.post-67268765714016377152007-04-26T17:41:00.000-05:002007-04-26T17:41:00.000-05:00Bill O'Reilly is a vile excuse for a human being.T...Bill O'Reilly is a vile excuse for a human being.
That said, the RW nutjobs do seem obsessed with Soros. But the Media Matters website indicates his organization is one of their backers.
But your they-do-it-too response also leaves me cold.
